Booking terms, cancellation policy, insurance requirement, weather rules and animal welfare — in plain language.
Booking confirmation
A booking is confirmed immediately once payment has been completed through the booking form using Stripe. You will receive a confirmation email and a receipt at the address you provided.
Please let us know about any food allergies or special needs at the time of booking.
Participant responsibility
Participation in our husky safaris is at your own risk. By taking part you accept that sled-dog activities involve natural risks such as falls, injuries and equipment damage.
All participants must follow the guides' instructions throughout the activity.
The driver of a husky safari is responsible for any damage caused to the huskies or to the sled during the trip. The deductible for accidents caused by the driver's own actions or by failing to follow safety instructions is €2,000 per incident.
Insurance requirement
All participants must hold valid travel and accident insurance that covers possible injuries or health issues.
PahkalaRanch is not liable for accidents, health-related issues or lost property during the activity.
Health & physical requirements
Husky safaris require basic fitness, balance and the ability to follow instructions. Participants must be able to:
• control their body safely on uneven terrain
• understand and follow the guide's instructions
• stay calm around the animals
• treat the dogs with respect
The weight limit is 100 kg per person. If the limit is exceeded, please let us know in advance so we can arrange a suitable dog team.
If you have an illness, injury, mobility limitation, or neurodevelopmental condition that may affect safety or communication, please tell us at least 24 hours before the activity. If we are not informed in time, participation may be refused for safety reasons and no refund will be given in such cases.
Weather conditions
Safaris depend on the weather, the condition of the trails, and the wellbeing of our dogs.
We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, shorten or change the route if conditions are unsafe.
If we have to cancel a safari, we offer a new time or refund the payment where possible.
Equipment
Please dress appropriately for winter conditions.
Animal welfare
The wellbeing of our dogs is paramount. All guests must treat the dogs carefully and with respect.
Unsafe or inappropriate behaviour may lead to removal from the activity without refund.
Payment methods
Payment is made at the time of booking by card via Stripe. We accept all major cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express).
Card details are transmitted directly to Stripe over an encrypted channel — we never see or store card information.
Prices include VAT.
Cancellation policy
Cancellations are made by emailing pahkalaranch@gmail.com.
Refund policy:
• 90 % refund — cancellation at least 30 days before the activity
• 50 % refund — cancellation less than 30 days before
• No refund — cancellation less than 7 days before
• No refund for no-shows
